CFB / BCCG meeting 18/09/2007
There will be a meeting of the Brussels Croquet Club at Genval on Tuesday September 18th.
The meeting will be held at John Swabey’s new flat (rue des Hirondelles 15, 1000 Bxl, just off place De Brouckere) and will start at 18.30. John tells me that it will be possible to park free of charge in the buildings parking. All interested members are invited to attend.
Items on the Agenda:
- Matters arising from the cancellation of our open events this year.
A player whose entry had been accepted by the Federation President for the Golf Open claims that he has suffered financial loss (non-refundable bookings). Should we refund him?
There is an ongoing dispute as to whether the Opens should have been cancelled without the authorisation of the Federation president. What should the role of the Federation / Club committees be. At present it is taking anything between 3 and 5 weeks to organise a meeting. Is the present “top-heavy” structure suitable for a club with as few members as we have?
- Actions relating to the resignation of our Federation President.
Charles-Eric has resigned. We need to consider his replacement and take steps to ensure that relations with the hotel continue to run smoothly.
Reassess all current appointments. Decide if / when we should have an election meeting.
- Open events next year.
Which open events should we hold next year? When should they be? When should the allocation date be? (The allocation date is the date on which we inform people whether their entries are accepted – or, in the case of insufficient entries, can cancel the event.)
Should we advertise the event(s) in the Croquet Association fixture list? Cost £58.75 for 2006.
- Reports.
From Anne White: progress on obtaining a club notice-board.
From Bob Appels: relations with the hotel and entries for the Indoor Open.
- End of season event.
What are we doing. Who is organising. Where?
- Back-burner (we will need to attend to these – not of necessity this meeting).
Season longs.
Entry fees for club / national events
Country memberships - how about a 50km radius?
Laws course & referees examinations
Clubhouse cleaning
Bar bills - when to collect
- Any other business.
If there are any other matters which you feel should be discussed, write to mail@centrepeg.org and they will be put on the agenda.
